Yaffa, 85, born in the land of Israel, came to Nir Oz approximately 55 years ago. She has three children, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, some of whom also live in Nir Oz.
Throughout her life, Yaffa has worked in various capacities on the Kibbutz, as well as in the offices of the Kibbutz Movement in Tel Aviv. She is a woman of principle and great resilience, possessing the capacity to persevere in even the most troubling of times. Yaffa is also proactive and values her independence. When faced with difficulties, she smiles and refuses to complain so as not to burden her loved ones.
Yaffa’s life revolves around her large extended family, and she is known for her caring, giving and pampering nature. Yaffa is especially close to her grandchildren. A great listener, she is intimately acquainted with all the comings and goings of their lives. Yaffa is an avid reader, and until recently enjoyed traveling abroad whenever she could.
On October 7, Hamas terrorists entered Yaffa’s home and ransacked it. The exact details are unknown. She was last seen in a video circulated by Hamas showing her being driven in a golf cart in Gaza.
